Turquoise Lace Dress Style Showdown: Taylor Swift, Kaley Cuoco or Blake Lively?

Forget about those little black dresses. All of Hollywood’s hottest stars are obsessed with the floral-print, turquoise cap sleeved Tibi lace dress from the Spring 2011 collection. Pop star Taylor Swift, The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco and Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively all stepped out in the classic dress — each adding their own flair of style.
Which gal wears the dress best? Cast your vote in the poll and leave a few fashion reviews in the comments while you’re at it!

Kaley was the first gal to step out in the flirty dress at the P.S. Arts Bag Lunch event in L.A. back in May. She paired the look with nude pumps and a zebra-print clutch.
Last month, Blake stepped out in the same frock while promoting The Green Lantern on NBC’s TODAY. She paired the look with a green handbag and leopard-print pumps.

Taylor Swift doesn’t need to wait until the 2011 Teen Choice Awards on August 7 to find out if she is picking up an award. Taylor Swift Plays 'Cowboy' for One of the Dixie Chicks

Frederick Breedon IV, Getty Images When the Dixie Chicks' 'Cowboy Take Me Away' reached the top of the charts at the end of 1999, Taylor Swift was just turning ten, and dreaming of hearing her own songs on the radio someday. Fast forward almost 12 years, and the now-21-year-old is selling out stadiums and racking up awards -- a modern-day success story that is owed, at least in part, to the hugely popular Dixie Chicks tune.

"Everybody who plays an instrument remembers that first song they ever learned on guitar," Taylor said during a recent show in Newark, N.J. (quote via VH1.com). "I feel so lucky because my very first memory of the first song I ever wanted to learn to play on guitar was this beautiful, gorgeous song by the Dixie Chicks called 'Cowboy Take Me Away.' Does anybody know the words to that song?," she asked the sold-out crowd at the Prudential Center.

Who wore it best? Blake Lively vs Taylor Swift

It's a brave woman who takes on Blake (legs) Lively. And an equally brave one who takes on Sports Illustrated swimwear model Brooklyn Decker.

But brave Taylor Swift is. And with an equally cracking bod' to boot.

The US country and western warbler took on actress Blake Lively when she wore the very same Tibi dress while out and about in Soho, New York - preferring to belt hers and add nude bow detail heels.

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively beat Taylor to it back in June, upping the fashion ante with a pair of leopard print Charlotte Olympia heels.

Taylor Swift Wants to Work With Bruno Mars

Megastar collaboration alert: Taylor Swift wants to work with Bruno Mars! During Swift’s chat with Elvis Duran on New York’s Z100 this morning, she talked about bumping into the ‘Just the Way You Are’ singer at a recent event.

“We saw each other at the Met Gala … I get into a daze at those things cause there’s so much stuff to look at. I’m turning around the room and all of a sudden, there’s Bruno Mars right behind me. We’re in this line going through the exhibits. I was just like, ‘I would love to write with you sometime,’ and he’s like, ‘Let’s do it! Let’s meet up on the road.’”

We wonder if a Swift-Mars collabo would result in songs about breaking up. Swift loves to write about her failed relationships, although she says she’s never happy when one ends, even if means that she suddenly has new material:

“I think when you’re truly heartbroken, you’re never like, ‘Yes, I can parlay this into something!’ You’re like, ‘I wanna stay in bed for five years and just eat ice cream.’ I don’t think I’ve ever celebrated a breakup, like, ‘Now I’ve got new material,’ but it just kind of ends up happening that way.”

Since Swift often writes about her exes, have any of her former beaus turned the tables by penning a song about her? She says it’s happened at least three times. “Those are the ones that have been speculated. There was one that I was like, ‘Really? Come on.’”

Swift also discussed how she stays grounded and her relationship with her fans, one of whom camped out overnight in the heat in anticipation of her appearance at the radio station. Check out the full 22-minute interview below.

Taylor Swift Dismisses Songs About Her as 'All Good Fun'

Taylor Swift has made a not-so-small fortune by addressing ex-boyfriends in her songs, but what happens when the author becomes the subject? Taylor dished with New York deejay Elvis Duran about the possibility of a few tunes being directed towards her.

"There is one ... two ... three," counts the 'Mean' singer. "Those are the ones that have been speculated." She adds, "It's all good fun though. It's music going back and forth. It's fueled by heartbreak and real stories and real things. That's what keeps music authentic."

What Is Written on Taylor Swift’s Arm?

As Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now world tour rolls on in full swing, fans and concert-goers are wondering, what is written on Taylor Swift’s arm each night? The answer? Song lyrics!
Not her own lyrics, of course. Though Swift’s love-filled and inspiring lyrics are music to millions of people’s ears, the singer herself finds solace in other artist’s songs. Each night before her concerts, the ‘Love Story’ songstress takes a black Sharpie to her left arm to write a line from a different song that speaks to her.
The genre varies show by show, most likely based on Swift’s mood, and she’s penned inspiring lines from everyone from fellow country stars Faith Hill and the Dixie Chicks, to rockers U2 and Tom Petty, and even a line from her friend Selena Gomez‘s hit, ‘Who Says.’

SPEAK NOW TOUR SPARKS RAVE REVIEWS

On Saturday, the Boston night skies opened and Taylor played the second half of that night’s show in the pouring rain, soaking wet. Midway through “You Belong With Me” the light rain became a downpour, but Taylor (the first and only female artist to ever sell out Gillette) never missed a beat, getting soaked to the skin but continuing the outdoor show as 55,000 drenched fans sang along with her.
One month into the tour, Taylor’s Speak Now show is already garnering universally high praise from critics around the nation:
“One of the genre's most ambitious acts has created one of the genre's most ambitious tours. Broadway-inspired…the two-hour production was an overwhelming experience. There's an enormous amount of detail that worked to make the Speak Now Tour a sort of next step in country concert presentation….it blended the pacing, the music and the artist's personality in a way that transfixed. It's a production - and an ability - that her peers in the business will continue to study.” – Billboard

TAYLOR LAUNCHES WONDERSTRUCK

Taylor Swift is well on her way to becoming a franchise. The ‘Mean’ singer just announced that she will debut a bottled fragrance called Wonderstruck — which coincidentally is a lyric from her song ‘Enchanted,’ inspired by Owl City‘s Adam Young.
“I wrote the lyric, ‘I’m wonderstruck, blushing all the way home,’ for the song ‘Enchanted’ about the first time you meet someone,” Taylor says in a statement. “A fragrance can help shape someone’s first impression and memory of you. It’s exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories.”
While the ‘Love Story’ songstress didn’t come right out and say ‘This one goes out to you, Owl City boy,’ Adam Young confirmed that “wonderstruck” is a word he used in an email to Swift which she said she had never heard before. “We emailed back and forth for a while and she made some comment that I used the word ‘enchanted’ and the word ‘wonderstruck’ in an email and she said how she had never heard anyone really use that word before, so when that word was in the song, I was like this song has to be about me,” the Owl City singer told US Magazine. Additionally, the name ‘Adam’ pops up when you decode Taylor’s secret lyric messages, so there’s no denying this tune’s for him.

Taylor Swift Covers Springsteen & Bon Jovi in Jersey: Watch

Taylor Swift sampled the local fare while on her latest Speak Now tour stop in the Garden State earlier this week (July 19), treating her New Jersey fans to a couple very familiar tunes.
Strapped with an acoustic guitar, Taylor asked the crowd, "Are you guys aware of the brilliant music that's been created in New Jersey?" Swift then started strumming the opening chords to Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" and instructed her audience to sing along. One fan excitedly shrieked, "That's Bruce Springsteen!"

Suddenly, Swift was amidst a short, but impassioned Jersey medley, transitioning from the Jersey Shore-born Boss to Sayreville's own pride and joy, Bon Jovi. The audience had no qualms about chiming in to sing the band's bar anthem, "Livin' on a Prayer," and Swift's ode to the Garden State was met with roaring approval.
